How often should I have a dental check-up?
It is recommended to visit your dentist at least twice a year to maintain oral and dental health. These check-ups help detect cavities, gum disease, or other oral health issues early on, allowing for preventative measures before problems worsen. Regular follow-ups protect your health in the long term and help avoid more extensive treatments.
Is dental implant treatment painful?
Implant treatment is performed completely pain-free under local anesthesia. After the procedure, there may be slight discomfort or sensitivity, but this typically subsides within a few days and can be easily managed with appropriate medication. We plan comfort protocols individually for each patient at our clinic.
What is the success rate of implant treatment?
Today, the success rate of implant treatments is around 96–98%. In our clinic, where I have been performing implant treatments for 7 years, our success rate is very high. The majority of the over 6,000 implants I have placed are still functioning flawlessly. The key to success is proper planning, sterile conditions, and regular follow-ups.
What are All-on-Four and All-on-Six treatments?
These are advanced procedures where all teeth are fixed onto 4 or 6 implants in patients with no remaining teeth. Temporary teeth can be placed the same day, providing an aesthetic and functional smile. These techniques are particularly comfortable and effective for patients with bone loss.
What is smile design and who can benefit from it?
Smile design is an aesthetic dental treatment planned according to the individual's facial features, lip structure, and dental condition. Using digital measurements, a more symmetrical, natural, and aesthetic smile can be achieved. It's suitable for anyone with aesthetic concerns or with broken, discolored, or misaligned teeth.
What is digital dentistry?
Digital dentistry replaces traditional methods with technologies like 3D scanning and computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM). This allows for more precise measurements and faster, better-fitting prosthetics and fillings. Digital systems make treatments more predictable and reproducible.
What should I be careful about after an implant procedure?
Avoid hot and cold foods for the first few days, keep the surgical area clean, and use your prescribed medications regularly. Smoking and alcohol negatively affect the healing process. Regular check-ups are crucial for the long-term success of your implant.
Is root canal treatment painful?
No, with modern techniques and local anesthesia, root canal treatment is now a painless procedure. The infected or inflamed pulp is removed, the inside of the tooth is cleaned and filled, saving the tooth. There may be minor sensitivity afterward, but this usually resolves quickly. We ensure comfortable treatment with modern equipment.
How long do aesthetic fillings last?
With proper care and regular check-ups, composite aesthetic fillings can last 5–7 years or even longer. Teeth grinding or frequent contact with hard foods can shorten their lifespan. We use high-quality materials and apply fillings with attention to both aesthetics and function.
Do you offer services for patients coming from abroad?
Yes, our clinic holds an international health tourism authorization certificate. We provide consultation and support in patients' native languages, especially English. Our professional team manages all aspects of the process, including accommodation, transfers, and treatment planning.
Can everyone get dental implants?
Dental implants can be applied to most healthy adults with sufficient jawbone and good oral hygiene. However, in cases of diabetes, osteoporosis, or immune system issues, a detailed evaluation is required. We offer personalized implant planning after a thorough analysis.
How long does implant treatment take?
The initial surgical procedure typically takes 30–60 minutes. After that, a healing period of 2–3 months is needed for the implant to fuse with the bone. Then the prosthetic tooth is placed. In some special cases, a temporary tooth can be placed the same day. Treatment time varies based on your bone structure and overall health.
What should I eat after an implant procedure?
During the first 24 hours, consume soft and lukewarm foods. Avoid hot and hard foods. A balanced diet supports tissue regeneration during healing. Alcohol and smoking can negatively affect healing and are therefore discouraged.
Is smile design permanent?
With proper care, smile design can maintain its aesthetic effect for many years. Longevity depends on the tooth structure and the materials used. Our digitally planned designs are created for both aesthetic appeal and maximum durability.
How long does clear aligner (orthodontic) treatment take?
The duration depends on the individual's dental structure, typically ranging from 6 to 18 months. Consistent aligner use and regular monthly check-ups help shorten the treatment time. This method combines aesthetics with comfort.
What is a zirconium crown?
Zirconium is a durable and aesthetic material that closely resembles natural tooth structure. It provides a natural appearance due to its light-transmitting property, especially for front teeth. It is more biocompatible with the gums than metal-supported crowns and carries no risk of allergic reaction.
How is gum recession treated?
If detected early, gum recession can be managed with professional cleaning and care protocols. In advanced cases, surgical procedures or graft applications may be necessary. We offer personalized treatment options based on individual needs.
Is pain normal after a root canal?
Mild sensitivity or discomfort for a few days after root canal treatment is normal and usually temporary. It can be easily managed with prescribed painkillers. If the pain persists, please contact our clinic.
Does teeth whitening damage teeth?
When performed by an experienced dentist using professional products, teeth whitening does not harm the enamel. Temporary sensitivity may occur after the procedure, but it usually subsides. A detailed exam should be done beforehand to determine eligibility.
Do aesthetic fillings discolor over time?
High-quality materials and correct application ensure that aesthetic fillings remain color-stable for a long time. However, external factors like tea, coffee, and smoking may cause discoloration over time. Our clinic uses fillings with high color stability.
Can dental treatment be performed during pregnancy?
Non-urgent treatments are usually scheduled for the second trimester (4–6 months). In emergencies, treatment is planned with the health of both mother and baby in mind. We coordinate with your obstetrician if needed.
What is tartar and how is it cleaned?
Tartar forms when plaque hardens over time and can only be removed through professional cleaning. If left untreated, it can lead to gum disease. We use ultrasonic devices for painless and effective tartar removal.
How does digital impression-taking work?
A 3D image of your teeth is captured using intraoral scanners. This eliminates the need for traditional molds, enabling fast and precise fabrication of prosthetics and crowns. It speeds up the treatment process and improves comfort.
What is the solution for jaw joint pain?
Jaw joint pain often results from stress, teeth grinding, or ill-fitting prosthetics. Treatment options include night guards, physical therapy, or Botox. After a detailed examination, the most suitable treatment is determined.
Does smoking affect implants?
Yes, smoking significantly reduces the success rate of implants. It negatively impacts bone integration and increases the risk of infection. It is strongly recommended to quit smoking before and after implant treatment.
What are gum diseases?
The most common are gingivitis (gum inflammation) and periodontitis (advanced stage). Symptoms include redness, bleeding, and bad breath. If left untreated, they can lead to tooth loss. We offer laser and non-surgical treatments for gum diseases.
At what age should orthodontic treatment begin?
The ideal age for orthodontic treatment is between 9 and 14 years. However, clear aligner systems allow for effective treatment in adults as well. We offer age-specific planning for personalized solutions.
Should I choose a crown or a filling?
It depends on the size of the cavity. Small damage can be treated with a filling, while larger cavities may require a crown for better aesthetics and durability. The final decision is made after a detailed examination.
What is the difference between a prosthetic tooth and a natural tooth?
Modern prosthetics closely mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth. However, they lack nerves, so there may be some difference in sensation. Proper application minimizes this difference.
What hygiene standards do you follow in your clinic?
Our clinic holds international quality certifications including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 10002. Sterile packages are used for each patient, instruments are sterilized with autoclaves, and all areas are disinfected regularly throughout the day.
